Japan, a parallel universe. A place that has lingered in my dreams ever since we’ve first visited it, seven years back. The depth of its culture and its distinct worldview fills me with awe and a profound sense of curiosity.

During our journey in the spring of 2024, I was drawn into the philosophy of ‘ichi-go ichi-e’, a gentle reminder that each moment is fleeting and unrepeatable. It whispers to us to be present, to see the extraordinary within the ordinary and to embrace the beauty of impermanence with an open mind and a tender heart.

This film is a mosaic of transient moments: the rustle of bamboo in a temple grove, the distant toll of a temple bell carried by the wind, the murmurs of life in hidden alleyways, a fleeting glance of a passerby beneath the glow of neon signs or the laughter of children chasing soap bubbles in a park. Each frame is a meditation on intricate fibers that weave the fabric of existence. A tribute to the unspoken poetry of moments that can never be recreated but will remain etched in memory.
